Kat Cole. A Force to be Reckoned with and a Story to be Shared

I have several “girl crushes”. Women who have inspired me, encouraged me and who have helped me become the person I am today. I’d like to share with you one such inspiration. Her name is Kat Cole. And if you’ve never heard of her then I encourage you to learn more about this amazing woman.

Kat was one of three girls raised by her single, divorced mom in Jacksonville, FL. She started her rise up the corporate ladder working two jobs. One of which was as a waitress at a local Hooters. As a matter of fact, Kat worked just about every position at Hooters before she became the VP of Training and Development at a mere 26 years old! Under her guidance, Hooters grew from approximately 100 locations and $300 million in revenue to 500 locations in 33 countries and 1 billion in revenue.  Wow!

Kat left Hooters to join Cinnabon, Inc. in November 2010. In January of 2011 she was named President and COO. Amazing. Did I mention she was 32? During her first three years with Cinnabon, 200 bakeries were added and the company became a global brand with locations in 56 countries. Their revenues for 2013 were estimated at 1 billion dollars.

Kat Cole. An inspiration to us all

Cole received an MBA from Georgia State University even though she had never received her bachelor’s degree. She was named one of Fortune Magazine’s 40 under 40 in 2013.

Kat is positive and outward thinking. She’s a compassionate woman who spends time in Africa doing humanitarian works. She’s a larger than life dreamer and an eternal optimist. She’s won numerous awards and is an incredible role model who donates her time and talents to help women and young entrepreneurs.

I strongly encourage you to read about her and her life. I also invite you to share her story with your sisters, daughters, nieces and granddaughters. In a world where positive role models for women are few and far between, it’s refreshing and exciting to know that strong, successful women are out there among us doing their thing. I respect that these rock star women have overcome many of the same obstacles we all have had to face at one point or another in our lives.

Kat is a reminder that if we work hard and believe, we too can achieve the “American Dream.” You can read more about Kat by going to http://www.businessinsider.com/cinnabon-president-kat-coles-biography-2013-9

Success and happiness to you all.  T ~
